Something To Be Thankful For

This morning I was thinking about how Jesus was never too good to help somebody, never told anyone to get away, or get out of his face, yet God still allowed him to be crucified in our place, even though he’d done no wrong. Why would God allow such an injustice? Because God is holy, and if someone hadn’t taken our place there’d be no way for us to go to heaven when we die. That’s all there is to it. You can’t earn your way there. You’re already eternally too short, when it comes to God’s standards.

Below are a few verses summarizing things. My words are inadequate, but God’s words are pure words, so I highly recommend them to be worth your time.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable.

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Let the little children come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I wil give you rest

Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth for I am God and there is none else.

Come and let us reason together saith the LORD. Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow. Though they be red like crimson they shall be white as wool.

He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed.

Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

All we like sheep have gone astray everyone to his own way and the Lord hath laid upon him the inquity of us all.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus christ our lord.

As it is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgement.

But God commendeth his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the son of God.

Note: That last verse is a chiasm, so repeats itself. You can find any one of those references in the Bible with a google search.
